Pieces of Me

Pieces of Me was a project in partnership with the Kitchener Downtown Community Health Centre, funded by the Ontario Arts Council.

A series of collage workshops were delivered to birthing parents, using vintage magazines that were spliced and re-created to explore realities of being female identifying primary parents in today’s society. Two groups took place over the course of one year, with participants meetings for 16 weeks and creating together, while also forming connections between each other. The workshops resulted in a small exhibition of works, the publication of a zine that was distributed through community partners, and an article in Kolaj Magazine discussing the therapeutic potential of collage in working with this population.
