  • Just Right: KWAG + Catherine Mellinger

Just Right: KWAG + Catherine Mellinger (Monthly: Feb-May 2025)

Join me for a series of workshops that offer an Expressive Arts experience at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery (KWAG) monthly for the winter/spring of 2025. We will be immersing ourselves in a transformative art encounter that involves sensory exploration and movement within KWAG’s thought-provoking exhibitions. Delve into a sensory journey as you playfully interact with various art materials, fostering a deep sense of connection and harmony. Each workshop will use various pieces from current exhibitions during the month of the workshops. For more information, or to register, visit KWAG’s workshops page HERE.

  • Hidden Grief: KWAG + Catherine Mellinger: March 6, 2025

Grief is a deeply felt universal experience that often leaves us feeling overwhelmed or lost in how to process, but it doesn't have to be a lonely path or a painful one. This workshop is designed to be an encouraging exploration of differing types of grief that empowers you to process, be with and express these complex emotions through the transformative power of artmaking. Our arts exploration will be inspired by artworks in the current exhibitions. For more information or to register, visit the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery website HERE.

On Feb 15 and March 15, 2025, I will be hosting two collaborative collage workshops in partnership with the City of Kitchener, hosted at 44 Gaukel St. on the main floor. Over the course of both days, community members will be welcome to join me in creating a large scale collage piece that shows the threads the connect us through use of images and line. The final collage will be exhibited on the main floor of the building in April 2025, partnered with a panel discussion on the role of community embedded and engaged arts in community development and advocacy. These workshops are open to the public for all ages.
